Dolce & Gabbana was started by Italian designers Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana. The two met in Milan in 1980 and worked for the same fashion house. By 1982, they had started their first fashion consulting studio and, in 1985, they showed their first women’s collection in Milan, winning national acclaim.
Dolce and Gabbana are arguably the most powerful and influential designers of our time. They are fundamentally known for wanting to make women look “fantastically sexy”. Their clients include some of the best-dressed people in the world, such as the Beckhams, Madonna, and Sophia Loren.
In 2011, Dolce & Gabbana decided to abolish the D & G line in order to put “more strength and energy” into their other collections. D & G was a casual line that follows an urban inspiration and attempts to set trends rather than follow them. It is the younger, more flamboyant diffusion line of the brand.
Dolce & Gabbana eyeglass frames embrace raw energy, opulence, and sensuality with an unmistakably timeless style. D&G’s contemporary glasses and sunglasses stand out for embracing the fashions and colors of the younger generation.
